You know you’re doing something right when an industrial psychologist describes your team as kind, considerate, motivated, happy and efficient.
“All the outward signs say this is a very good, happy, well-organised, well-adjusted organisation,” says Ben Shaw, who retired recently from Bond University’s Faculty of Business after 23 years. “And for a family businesses that’s quite something.”
Ben and his wife, Cindy, were looking to make some changes to their 37-year-old house. Ben was particularly keen on louvres. Cindy wasn’t so sure at first.
“The team at Central Glass asked lots of questions and went away to draw up some options,” says Ben. “They were really interested in finding out what we were actually looking for. I’d wanted to work with someone personal, customised, accommodating, on time, friendly, and concerned about us and our goals. I got all of that with Central Glass and Aluminium.”
In the end, Ben and Cindy opted for the louvres. Then at the eleventh hour some regulations changed, which affected the plans. (Ben and Cindy have a pool, and the regulations were about whether a child could get through louvres of a certain size.)
“The guys at Central Glass picked up on the change straight away. They called us; they told us what it meant and they’d already talked to the manufacturers and come up with options.”
The result?
“Perfect,” says Ben. “The louvres do exactly what we want them to do and the addition of Crimsafe made them compliant with the new regulations. And when the wind blows hard, we don’t get so much as breeze, which is more than we could say for the old windows.”
