We have watched the town grow at a frantic pace and evolve in to a tourism destination, complete with a building boom, of which we were quite closely linked. We watched demand shift between products, and trends come and go. However, one of the largest upheavals came in the past two decades.
The arrival of the information age definitively changed our method of marketing and providing our services – just as it did elsewhere. Suddenly, physical presence meant less to consumers than a digital one, and we found our shores flooded by foreign imports.
In order to stay with the times, we at Central Glass reinvented our processes and product emphases. In order to stand apart from foreign imports, we began to place greater focus on quality control and good domestic products, over price tags, to be sure we were moving the best possible product.
By increasing our online marketing and reinventing our branding, we were able to extend our outreach. Our efforts brought us notoriety out of state, which meant further adjustments to our shipping and handling efforts. Our online sales also offered us further exposure, and employment, of our retail lineup of handles and rollers, equipment that has been warmly received interstate.
This interstate interest also meant that we were obliged to adjust our window lineup. What fit the breeze and humidity of Gold Coast wasn’t necessarily suited to the dry warmth of South Australia, or the winter chill of Tasmania. This search for the next big thing encouraged us to stay abreast of new developments in this field, as various stakeholders in Australia and abroad brought new products to the market.
