Out of all of the possible styles, glass sliding doors provide some of the most dramatic results. When seen from outside, they offer an expensive, inviting look that can’t be matched. For those inside of a home or commercial building, the view of the outdoors is the high point. Either way, the width and height of sliding doors make them unmistakable architectural assets.
There are two main types of glass sliding doors, and each one is meant to meet the needs of specific types of users. Residential or Commercial sliding doors are usually manually-operated, and typically have a latch on one end.
The second type of sliding door – is an Automatic door like the ones we did at Aldi Varsity Lake. Now through the desire to bring this type of technology into our homes, new slimline automatic operates are becoming part of our house design and are very reasonably priced, especially if there is a resident who would have trouble working the manual type.
Commercial (auto) sliding doors are often mechanized, and open as soon as someone gets close to them. This creates a very inviting feel for those entering the building. The automation is also appreciated by people going out because it eliminates the need to try to work a door while juggling an armful of shopping bags. In stores that keep shopping carts inside of a vestibule area, door automation is also required by the staff who bring those carts in from the parking lot.
Keeping your doors in working order
Basic maintenance is needed to keep all doors easy to slide. Usually, this entails cleaning sand and other outdoor debris from the track on a regular basis. Lubricant may also need to be sprayed in the lower track, especially for older doors to keep the rollers running well. Roller servicing and cleaning is an essential part, or if you have left them too long – replacement.
We can install both residential and commercial doors to meet your needs.
