No Space – Think Again – There is Always A Door Option I Cavity Door

Often considered a relic of past architectural design, the cavity door is making a modern comeback. Door needed ! No space – a fabulous space saver the cavity door might just be what you are chasing.

Ideal for a tight space, where a traditional swing or hinged door is not an option like laundries and bathrooms. There is the obvious use for a wardrobe, or as doors dividing off two areas – they simply glide back in to the wall (or cavity). We have seen the growth of butlers kitchens in homes, keeping the mess of the kitchen behind a cavity door is a great way to maximise the space without having to live with the mess whilst entertaining.

Not all cavity doors need to be timber – they have come a long way from the humble timber cavity door, that kept falling off the tracks. Today, modern systems include the ability to use glassed doors.

If installing a cavity door is not an option for you then you could consider a top hung sliding door, if you have the space to slide it back on the inside of the wall (check this out door installation using a slimline soft close, top hung sliding door unit – the Builder decided to add a cavity so it met both functionality and great design.

The added bonus of this system, is that there are no holes required in the glass so it is possible to use  laminated glass. we have used this product recently for a large sliding door to a media room with – you guessed it black glass.
